BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: I know that you are all very excited to visit your child’s classroom on his or her annual “Back to School Night.” Please remember that this evening is designed for parents only-no children please. “Back to School Night” for each grade will begin at 6:30 in the Placentino Cafetorium with a short group session for all parents and guardians. At 7:00 p.m. parents/guardians will proceed to their child’s classroom. The classroom visit provides an opportunity for teachers to discuss the “details” of their classroom procedures and describe our academic programs and curriculum. Teachers will present general information to their parent groups at this time. You will also have an opportunity to sign-up for a conference with your child’s teacher. Thank you for remembering that if a parent has concerns or information specific to their child, it should be shared with the teacher through a private telephone call, note, email, or at conference time and not during the format of our “Back to School” program. The evening will conclude at 8:00.

HEPTSA MEETING: There is a Holliston Elementary Parent Teacher Student Association meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th at 9:15 a.m. in the Placentino Café. Please join us. SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING: The first meeting of the Placentino School Council will be held this Tuesday, September 16th in the Placentino library at 3:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and parents are welcome to attend. FOOD PANTRY DAY: This Thursday, September 18th, is Food Pantry Day at Placentino School. The Holliston Pantry Shelf (http://www.hollistonpantryshelf.org/index.html) supplies food free of charge to Holliston residents in need. The Pantry is different from other food pantries in several aspects. First, the Pantry is open five days a week all year. Furthermore, the Pantry allows clients to shop for their own food, a completely unique approach. Finally, the Pantry has no paid staff and relies on volunteers to run it. Therefore, all money received goes either toward buying food or maintaining the space for the Pantry. The Pantry relies entirely on private donations and receives no municipal, state, or federal support. Items most needed at the Pantry: Canned Soups, Peanut Butter, Canned Meats/Tuna, Snacks, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper. Students may bring donations to school which will be collected by the classroom teacher. PICTURE DAY: This Friday, September 19th is picture day at Placentino School. Forms will be sent home on Wednesday. Let us know in the office if you need an extra form. LUNCH MENU: September Lunch Menu
