The School Committee will determine the 2019-2020 school year tuition later in the spring. If you meet any of the below criteria, you may qualify for full-day kindergarten tuition assistance for the 2019-2020 school year. A- Kindergarten student is in a household receiving benefits from MA SNAP, MA TANF, or Medicaid (free tuition) B- Kindergarten student is a foster child who resides with you who is under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court (free tuition) C- Kindergarten student meets the definition of homeless or migrant (free tuition) D- Gross Household income is within the limits on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines for Free & Reduced Lunch. The 2019-2020 guidelines are published from the state in the summer. In the meantime, please see this year’s eligibility guidelines as a reference (qualification will be based on the 2019-2020 guidelines). Federal Eligibility Income Chart For School Year 2018-2019
*Gross salary is before deductions Based on the above information, please check off on the registration form if you believe your child would qualify for free lunch (and therefore receive free tuition), reduced lunch cost (and therefore receive 50% off tuition), or be responsible for paying full tuition. Full day Kindergarten tuition is charged in 4 equal payments (May, August, November, and February). If you select “free” or “reduced” tuition on the registration form, your payment will be modified for May and August based on this information. Verifications of your child’s eligibility will occur in September. If you are trying to qualify through criteria D above, a completed Free/Reduced lunch form must be filled out at the beginning of the school year. Once your family’s free and reduced lunch status is verified, you will be billed accordingly. Please note status will be based on the 2019-2020 Federal Income Eligibility guidelines. Kindergarten Lottery Information All students who choose traditional kindergarten, full or half-day, will be enrolled in the traditional program with no lottery. After the close of registration, we will determine the interest in our Montessori and French Immersion kindergarten programs which have a specified number of seats available. If the interest the Montessori and/or French Immersion programs outnumbers the number of open seats we have available, we will hold a public lottery. To be considered for any potential lottery, you must submit your child’s registration form by Friday, March 29, 2019. Families will be notified of any potential lottery by April 5th. If necessary, the kindergarten lottery will take place on April 11th at 9:30 AM in the cafetorium. This is a public lottery, but your attendance is optional and has no bearing on the outcome of the lottery. Any student who is placed on a waitlist will automatically be enrolled in full-day traditional kindergarten. |
