Kindergarten Registration Information


Documents Required for Kindergarten Registration and other Important Information

1. Student's BIRTH CERTIFICATE - DOB on or before 9/1/13


If you own the property you reside in, we require:

  • Copy of most recent tax bill


  • Copy of most recent utility bill (cable, electric, landline phone, etc.) or mortgage statement

If you lease/rent the property you reside in, we require:

  • Copy of lease


  • Copy of the property owner’s most recent property tax bill


  • Copy of most recent utility bill in your name (cable, electric, landline phone, etc)

If you are living with a relative, we require:

  • Notarized letter from the property owner stating the child is currently living at their Holliston address


  • Copy of the property owner’s most recent property tax bill


  • Copy of most recent car insurance bill, phone, or credit card bill in your name mailed to you at the Holliston address.

4. Health information (If you have a health related question please call the Health Office at 508-429-0647 ext 1206.)

  • Most recent PHYSICAL Examination Form with vision screening (including stereopsis)

  • 5 doses of DPT     

  • 4 doses of  Polio Vaccine (IPV or OPV)  

  • 2 doses of  MMR

  • 3 doses of Hepatitis B

  • 2 doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) or documented history of Chickenpox

  • Lead Screening Test

* We understand that your child may not have had their 5 year old well visit prior to registration, please upload/bring your most current physical form/immunizations now and provide the school a copy after their next physical (prior to the start of the school year) by emailing it to: or by mailing it to:

All registrations can be completed online with uploaded documents.  You DO NOT physically have to come to registration unless you need to utilize a school computer to fill out the registration form, prefer to not upload documents, and/or need to speak with a nurse regarding a health concern you have for your child. Registration will take place on March 13th, 14th and 15th during the hours of 9:15-10:45 and 1:30-2:30 in the Placentino Cafeteria. If school is cancelled on one of these dates, registration will be cancelled for the "no school" day.

To be considered for a lottery (Montessori or French Immersion) ALL DOCUMENTS must be submitted by Tuesday, March 20th at 3:00 PM (all online registrations will be time stamped).

If necessary, a lottery will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 9:30 in the Placentino Cafeteria for Montessori and/or French Immersion. You do not need to be in attendance, as applicants will be notified of results via email. There is no lottery for traditional kindergarten. Students who are enrolled in traditional kindergarten (full or half day) will be placed accordingly.


Tuition Information

The 2017-2018 tuition for full day kindergarten is $3,475. The School Committee will determine the 2018-2019 school year tuition later in the spring.  If you meet any of the below criteria, you may qualify for full day kindergarten tuition assistance for the 2018-2019 school year.

A- Kindergarten student is in a household receiving benefits from MA SNAP, MA TANF, or Medicaid (would qualify for free tuition)

B- Kindergarten student is a foster child who resides with you who is under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court (would qualify for free tuition)

C- Kindergarten student meets the definition of homeless or migrant would qualify for(free tuition)

D- Gross Household income is within the limits on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines for Free & Reduced Lunch. The 2018-2019 guidelines are published from the state in the summer. In the meantime, please see the 2017-2018 qualification chart located within the online registration form as a reference (qualification will be based off of the 2018-2019 guidelines). If your child qualifies for free lunch, you would receive free tuition.  If your child qualifies for reduced lunch cost, you would qualify for 50% off tuition.

Verifications of your child’s eligibility will occur in September. If you are trying to qualify through criteria D above, a completed Free/Reduced lunch form must be filled out at the beginning of the school year.

If you select “free” or “reduced” tuition on the registration form, your payment will be modified for May and August based on this information. After certification, the tuition amount will be determined and you will be billed accordingly.

Bus Pass information -  Bus pass applications will be mailed the first week of June from our business office.  The deadline for returning applications will be July 20th.  All families who live within 2 miles of the school will need to purchase a bus pass (2017-18 rate is $240 a student, $720 family cap). All riders need a bus pass and must complete an application (regardless of the distance you live from the school). Late fees apply for missed deadlines.  

Kindergarten Screening - Kindergarten Screening will take place the last week of the 2017-2018 school year.  Appointment letters will be mailed out the last week of May.

Placement letters- All teacher/class placement letters will be mailed in the summer of 2018.

First Day of School/Orientation-

August 28th is ORIENTATION DAY for all Kindergarten and Preschool children. August 29th is the FIRST REGULAR SCHOOL DAY for kindergarten and preschool. If your child is riding the school bus, your child will begin taking their assigned bus on August 29th.

The schedule for you to bring your child to school for an Orientation visit on August 28th is as follows:

                       Children whose last names begin A – K                  9:30 – 10:15

            Children whose last names begin L – Z                   10:45 – 11:30
